For my cooler I plane to use the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo. Consult your motherboard/BIOS manufacturer on how to enable Turbo in the BIOS. In general, it should be enabled by default. Make sure the Turbo option (if available in the BIOS) is not disabled. Make sure your BIOS is up to date and/or reset BIOS to its default. I have a good deal on an Asus Prime Z390-A, just a mere $10 more expensive than the 9400f, which isn't ideal since the mobo shouldn't cost more than a 9400f but I'm pretty sure a Z series board has to be used to turbo boost, If any of you have a Z series cheaper than $209 please do let me know. Make sure your processor thermal cooling solution is appropriate for your system. I've looked up 'how to turbo boost i5 9400f' and wikiHow says to just enable it, but how can I select the GHz the CPU is running on (really new to pc building in general my bad if this is a dumb question.) I'm just wondering how I can edit the BCLK or the speed of the turbo boost? I'm pretty sure that to change the amount of GHz, that there is more than simply enabling turbo boost, so if that's true, how do I do it? Hopefully this makes sense.Įdit 2: Thought it might be useful to list which motherboard and cooler I plan to use. What I plan to do with my 9400F is to Turbo boost it. I mainly want to play games like Rainbow 6 / CSGO / Minecraft etc. I am going to build my first PC soon, and I want to buy an i5 9400f as it has been regarded as a good CPU for gaming.
